Performing regular backups of MikroTik configuration may reduce the risk of long downtime due to the need to reconfigure the router when there is a problem with the router. At least if the router is damaged, or RouterOS is corrupted, we do not need to bother anymore config from the beginning. Just restore its configuration from backup files that have been saved before.
